ABARTH TAKES STING OUT OF EXPENSIVE CAR SUPPLEMENT
- Abarth 600e Scorpionissima is now available from £39,875 OTR.
- The new price position avoids the upcoming Expensive Car Supplement for electric vehicles priced over £40k, saving up to £1,640 over five years.
Abarth has reduced the price of its 600e Scorpionissima ensuring future customers will avoid the Expensive Car Supplement which comes into effect on April 1, 2025.
The Expensive Car Supplement will mean all electric vehicles priced over £40,000 will have to pay £410 a year over the first five years of ownership from the start of the second year, possibly totalling £1,640.
Originally priced from £41,975, the Abarth 600e Scorpionissima will now be available to UK customers from £39,875, reflecting a £2,100 reduction.
In keeping with the high-performance pedigree of the brand, the Abarth 600e Scorpionissima is equipped with a 280 HP powertrain, the highest power ever reached by an Abarth car. Moreover, the Scorpionissima with 0 to 62 mph acceleration in 5.85 seconds, and the standard version (240 HP Abarth 600e) with 0 to 62 mph acceleration in 6.24 seconds, are fast and responsive. In addition, both versions have 345 Nm of torque and can reach a 124-mph limited maximum speed with a battery range of up to 207 miles (WLTP combined cycle, depending on the tyres fitted).

The standard Abarth 600e’s OTR pricing will remain at £36,975, comfortably below the £40,000 threshold. Giuseppe Cava, UK managing director for Fiat and Abarth, said: “Recognising that our top-of-the-range Abarth 600e Scorpionissima would have attracted the Expensive Car Supplement coming in April, we’ve made the decision to reduce the price of the car and protect our customers from this tax rise.”
The Abarth 600e will arrive in the UK in March. For further information, including specifications and features, please visit here.
